Dustbuster Buyer’s Guide
When you are ready to purchase a dustbuster, there are a few things that you should look at before making your final purchase. Knowing what to look for will allow you to buy the right vacuum to meet your needs.
What Can It Pick Up?
How Strong Is Dustbuster?
Check the voltage on the vacuum. Higher voltage will result in a more powerful motor and suction. If you are looking for one to use on a regular basis you will want to make sure that it has a higher voltage so that you can use it more frequently.
Type of Filter
Size and Weight
Check the design and weight of the machine to make sure it is compatible with your needs. Handheld vacuums weigh between one and four pounds and come in a variety of styles.
Check to see if the manufacturer offers a warranty on the device or if it is necessary to purchase a separate policy. Most manufacturers offer at least a partial warranty on all of their products.
How does a Dustbuster work?
A cordless vacuum does the exact same job as the typical vacuum would, but many find them to be much easier to operate and maneuver The device easily removes dirt and everyday messes off of household surfaces such as couches, rugs, and flooring. That dirt will then be placed into a bag that is located internally within the dustbuster. The main difference between a dustbuster and a typical vacuum is the fact that a dustbuster will not need to be plugged in in order to work. However, it is important to note that a dustbuster will need to be plugged into a wall in efforts to charge and gain the power to operate. It is not unusual for a cordless vacuum to have some sort of battery to supply power and is rechargeable.
When was the Dustbuster invented?
The dustbuster was invented in 1974 by a company you have likely heard of before, Black and Decker. Roughly 4 years later it would go on to make its grand arrival in the United States. The product was deemed to be a gamechanger because at the time all vacuums were very big, weighed a ton, and were very difficult to maneuver in tight spaces. It may come as a shock to you that NASA is actually fully accountable for this technological advancement. That may sound strange until you learn that NASA was working in partnership with Black and Decker to create a drill that did not require a cord and was considered to be freestanding. The drill was intended to be used during the Apollo moon mission. The creation of such a product made it much easier for other household products to be brought to life.
How do you empty a Dustbuster?
Like most things with the dusterbuster, emptying the machine is a breeze and can easily be completed. You will first want to ensure that the device has been shut off in order to prevent a huge mess from occurring. The release button, typically located on the top of the device, will then need to be found and pressed. You will need to hold the unit with one hand in efforts to not drop it while doing this. The cone will then need to be removed and all of the dirt and miscellaneous items within the cone can be placed within a wastebasket.
Are dustbuster worth it?
You may find yourself wondering if a dustbuster is worth the initial investment, the answer is a resounding yes! The purchase is sure to make your life considerably easier when it comes to cleaning your home as you won’t have to push around a heavy and loud vacuum cleaner. Instead you can simply use the dustbuster to tackle messes as they occur without having to worry about if there is enough room to safely navigate around your furniture and squeeze into tight locations.
How long do dustbuster last?
You should be pleased to find out that a dustbuster can remain plugged into a charger for an indefinite period of time without any damage occurring to the device. The typical amount of time a dustbuster can run when fully charged is roughly 10 minutes. This is the perfect amount of time to quickly clean up any small messes around the house.

How To Get Pet Hair Off The Furniture?
Okay, so today’s question is what is the best way to get pet hair off of furniture?
That is an excellent question. And there are seven ways to get pet hair off of furniture, and five of them are for professional house cleaners, and two of them are for homeowners. So, I’m going to cover all seven of those ways with you. Now, don’t worry about taking notes because all the notes are already saved for you in the show notes in the little “show more” section, and links to the things I’m about to tell you are also there.
1. Nitrile gloves
So put on a new pair of nitrile gloves. It will cost you about a dime. Put on a new pair of nitrile gloves and start at the top of the furniture or the cushion and go in the same direction. You don’t want to smear it all over. You want to go in one direction. As you scrape the pet hair off, it will adhere to the gloves, and it will come off in a little row or a little line that’s just like a glob of pet hair.
2. Handheld Vacuum
3. Removal brush
So far we have the nitrile gloves, we have a rubber brush, and we have the vacuum hose attachment. Those are three of the ways.
- Remove your pet dog and cat hair easily from couches, beds, comforters, blankets and more.
- Reusable, Sturdy Pet Hair Remover Tool: No need for sticky tapes or adhesive paper. The roller can be reused over and over again.
- NO Batteries or Power Source Required. Simply use short back and forth strokes with the roller to capture all pet hair and lint into the dust receptacle.
As you roll this along with the furniture, the pet removal element of it and the squeegee grab all of the hair and it throws it over into the little trash bin. Then you just open the door of the trash bin, you run it along with your finger, scoop out that little glob of hair, and chunk that in the trash.
The ChomChom should be inside every house cleaner’s cleaning caddy because you just never know when you’re going to run into it, and it’s a very quick, easy cleanup, just choo, choo, choo, choo, choo, and it’s done. That’s also great for homeowners, but I really recommend that for a professional house cleaner.
This is also great for leather furniture and stuff like that. It’s just going to clean right up. Now, there are some fine fibers and fabrics that have pet hair embedded in them, like you can’t even vacuum it. You vacuum it, there are still pet hair. That would be like if you lift up the cushion on your couch, and there’s this fabric where the leather meets the edges of the frame and that’s all covered in cat hair and dog hair, that’s going to be embedded in there. There are a couple of ways that you can get this out of your furniture fabric. I’m not talking about leather. I’m talking about the furniture fabric that’s underneath the cushions of your couch.
6. Fabric softener
Take a squeegee bottle, just an empty spray bottle, and mix seven-part water to one-part fabric softener, okay? This will make the area smell nice, but it will also moisten it just a little bit. Once it’s moistened just a little bit you can take a pumice stone. A pumice stone, you can buy them in a little block, it’s a porous stone and they’re kind of heavy. You start again just like you did with the gloves. Start in one position and scrape in the same direction.
Don’t go back and forth. Don’t go in a circle. Start at the top and scraped downward. Start at the top, scraped downward. Start at the top, scrape downward. Again, you’re going to create a little thing at the bottom where all of the dog or cat hair collects, and then you can vacuum up that little thing that you’ve created. It’s just a little glob of hair. You can vacuum that up with the vacuum.
7. Pumice stone
So, you want to leave yourself a one-inch frame around the area that you’re scraping, and then you want to use your rubber brush to get that, or your nitrile gloves to go in and to get around those areas in the frame area that you created. I hope that makes sense because this is also a podcast. I have to go to great lengths to try to explain to you what I’m talking about so you can imagine it in your mind because you can’t see it.
